We are spoilt for choice when it comes to 5-Star luxury accommodation in Cape Town, but I was blown away by this faultless property. Sure, it’s not located in the heart of the Waterfront or City Bowl, and the location won’t be for everybody, but after a full day of touring find yourself in this haven of tranquillity to completely unwind, stroll through the 7 hectares of indigenous gardens, take a swim in the heated pool, or for the brave the cold natural forest pool. In the mornings, sit on a garden bench and watch the sun rise exactly through the mountain saddle, enjoy a yoga class in the forest, or take in one of the numerous, unique spa offerings.

They are based on principles of Rise, Realign, Reflect and Rest and this is reflected throughout the property, down to the exquisite teas in the suites.

There are two separately run villas on the property with a common area garden and spa. Vile Verte is a 4 bedroom designer’s heaven and is mostly for exclusive use. Maison Noir has 5 individual suites and is operated more as a boutique hotel, but can also be taken on an exclusive basis. No expense has been spared in creating inviting spaces, filled with local art and home decor, holistic best practices, and seamless service. Maison Noir boasts an underground wine cellar and movie room while Villa Verte has a world-class gym, yoga room and spa.

A true wellness retreat on our doorstep! Sanctuary’s Director of Wellbeing, Romy Paull, is an experienced yoga, meditation and mindfulness teacher, coach and biomimicry practitioner and is on hand to create a programme designed just for you.
