South Africa is unique in that it has wide range of weather patterns, dependent on where you go and is viewed as a year round destination. As a rule, summer lasts from December to March and then winter runs from June to August. The best time to enjoy a South African safari is between May and October. These are the drier months, so animals tend to congregate around watering holes and rivers, hence easier to view. For a Cape Town experience, the best times are the hot summer months between November and March.

Guest Feedback
"We visited South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana. The accommodations were next level. There are no adequate words to describe the experience in the bush with the Big 5 and beyond. The people are the most gracious, appreciative, and kind I’ve ever encountered. If you want a worry free, experience of a lifetime you must use Timelines Africa. I can’t wait to go back!!"

Guest Feedback
"We spent 10-nights in South Africa and would have loved to extend the trip and continue exploring. Our two most favorite parts of the trip were hiking Table Top Mountain with our fabulous, very knowledgeable and polite guide Nick one early morning (5am pick up!) and our time on Safari. Seeing all of the animals in their habitat and being a part of their world was a memory we will never forget."
