Mount Kilimanjaro

Situated in the Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. An iconic part of the African landscape, the allure of this magnificent snow-covered peak has long attracted thousands of travellers from around the globe. With six official routes by which to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, climbers can choose how long and how scenic they want their trip to be. Though the climb is technically not as challenging as the high peaks of the Himalayas or Andes, the high altitude, low temperature, and occasional high winds make this a challenging trek sure to test the will of most travelers. But the incredible rewards waiting at the summit, on the roof of Africa, make it all worthwhile.
