Fun and adventure for the whole family! Explore Cape Town’s rich culture and history combined with natural beauty, fine wine and good food. The rugged east coast of South Africa is known for its adventure pursuits including: hiking, whale watching, ocean adventures and more, topped off with an unforgettable Big 5 safari experience.
Tracy and her family arrived at Cape Town International Airport where they were met by their local driver in the arrivals hall and transferred by road to the Babylonstoren Farm in the winelands. Known for their exceptional gardens and farmed estate, day two of the family’s trip was earmarked for a spectacular guided garden tour.
After a leisurely breakfast and check out, the family’s guide met them for their transfer to Grootbos, with a short stop in Franschhoek village for a walk around and wine tasting. On arrival at Grootbos Nature Reserve, the group was warmly welcomed and briefed on the daily activities included in their stay.
Day five saw Tracy and her family head to Simonstown for their private shark cage diving experience, followed by a visit to the Boulders Beach penguin colony in the afternoon and a casual dinner at the V&A Waterfront after a busy day. Hiking up Table Mountain is a popular, family-friendly activity for a visit to Cape Town and an early start to avoid the heat was essential, freeing up the afternoon of their sixth travel day to explore the city at their own leisure. Day seven was reserved for a deluxe foodie tour featuring a single-origin chocolate tasting, a craft beer tasting at Spice Route Estate in Paarl, a vintage car museum visit and a lunch booking at the Franschhoek Beer Company. After lunch the family headed into the Stellenbosch wine region for a wine tasting, ending the day with a short drive through the oldest part of the town, before heading back to Cape Town.
Tracy and her tribe squeezed an early morning breakfast in before their road transfer from their hotel back to the airport for their scheduled flight to Nelspruit, where they were met and assisted with boarding the safari charter plane to Londolozi Airstrip. On arrival they were warmly greeted by their ranger team and transferred to the lodge in an open safari vehicle – their very first game drive! On arrival at the lodge, the family was welcomed and brief on the daily activity schedule.
After a final safari activity and breakfast at the lodge, the family was transferred to the airstrip for their series of flights homeward bound.
