An adventurous couple combined high adventure and rapturous romance in their enchanting 19-day trip through some of the prime locations and most exhilarating experiences that East Africa has to offer. Beginning with a Kenyan safari, they also took in the majestic Northern Serengeti, visiting the gorillas of Rwanda, then rounding off their visit to the continent with a relaxing few days on the beaches of Zanzibar Island.
The couple arrived in Kenya’s capital of Nairobi at the break of dawn and were transferred to their overnight accommodation, where they were free to relax and prepare for their upcoming safari or head out on a day trip to explore the highlights of the city.
After breakfast, they made their way to a small safari plane to make their way to the Sand River Maasai Mara, situated on a secluded and picturesque site and populated with exclusive permanent tented camps in the style of the late 1920s. The couple enjoyed exceptional game viewing, featuring large concentrations of big cats and the dramatic arrival of The Great Migration.
Days 5 to 8 were spent in Tanzania soaking up the breathtaking sights of the famed Serengeti National park. The Nimali Mara is a beautiful hideaway that offered the couple luxury and privacy in the wilderness. With stunning vistas of endless plains, especially from each tent’s fourth wall of floor-to-ceiling glass doors, they could watch the sunrise from bed, sip on a glass of wine in a freestanding copper bath or swing on their daybed on the expansive terrace away from the crowds.
Jumping on a light aircraft, the pair departed their Tanzanian love bubble and headed to Lake Magadi for a night to enjoy spotting endangered black rhino, elephants, lions and exceptional bird life.
The couple then shifted gears and headed to a luxury boutique hotel located on the pristine sands of Paje beach, the Zanzibar White Sands Villas, for four dreamy nights together. With kitesurfing, watersports, sunbathing, a rooftop champagne bar or beach bar and lounge to choose from, not to mention indulgent massages and spa experiences, they could relax and enjoy one another’s company in a stunning setting.
Catching their transfer to Zanzibar Airport for their connecting flight to Kigali, Rwanda the couple prepared to check in at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge for 2 nights where they could choose from Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking, escorted mountain bike rides, cultural walks, a visit to the Dian Fossey Research Camp and Grave and the Musanze Market.
They were taken on a tour of the Genocide Memorial and Memorial, then whisked off to take in the rolling countryside of the Volcanoes region. The drive features sights of the chain of 15 000 foot volcanoes stretching through Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
After a whirlwind tour, the pair embarked on a four-hour transfer by road to Kigali Airport to catch their connecting flight to Nairobi International Airport.
The most romantic of getaways was completed with a road transfer from their final hotel in Nairobi to the airport for their international flight departure back home.
