7 NightsDestination: South Africa
Nancy brought a relative along on this ladies-only trip and wanted to include the highlights of South Africa: a Big 5 Safari in the Greater Kruger, Wine tasting, vineyard and garden tours in the Cape Winelands and foodie adventures in the city of Cape Town.
Landing at Johannesburg International Airport, the travellers were warmly welcomed by a VIP agent and escroted to their connecting domestic flight to Nelspruit Airport. Upon arrival they were met by their local guide for the road transfer to their lodge for a three-night stay, just in time for afternoon tea and an evening game drive. Inyati Game Lodge is a private game reserve sharing a border with the Kruger National Park, providing some of the best game viewing experiences in Africa.
On day four the ladies enjoyed a good breakfast before checking out and stepping onto their transfer for their tour along the Panorama Route, stopping on the way for an elephant interaction at Elephant Whisperers. Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa is not only a convenient springboard to Big 5 game viewing or daytrips to see waterfalls, escarpment views and historic sites such as Pilgrims Rest. It is a place to rest, recover and rejuvenate the senses, as well as a food destination with top Cape Town chefs in attendance, featuring magnificent breakfast spreads, tapas for lazy lunches on the Sabie River, and beautifully crafted fine dinners in a beautiful setting in the Kitchen. The spa at Summerfields is adorned with roses and makes use of natural products, such as macadamia oils, avo facials and banana wraps in open-air pavilions.
Day six saw the travelling companions check out for their road transfer to the airport for their onward flight to Cape Town, where their guide welcomed the pair and transferred them to their accommodation, Clouds Estate, in the Stellenbosch winelands region. Day seven was dedicated to a full-day private tour of the Cape Winelands, exploring the history, wine and architecture of the historic area, as well as tasting plenty of spectacular local wines.
After breakfast their guide collected the relatives from their hotel for a full day of following their whims and fancies, according to their personal interests. After a full day exploring exquisite Cape Town’s top attractions, the pair were dropped off at their private accommodation in Constantia.
Day 12 marked the end of their visit to South Africa. Nancy and her family member’s local guide collected them from their accommodation for their transfer back to Cape Town International Airport for their return flight home to the USA.
