4 NightsDestination: Namibia
Six friends from a YPO forum booked a four-day visit to Swakopmund in Namibia for plenty delicious foodie experiences, desert beach sundowners, an adventurous quad biking session, a magnificent marine cruise and a Fat Bike city tour to build relationships and let off steam.
Krishan and his friends arrived at Walvis Bay Airport in Namibia. After disembarking from their aircraft and collecting their baggage, they were welcomed and transferred to The Strand Hotel. After settling in, the group was collected from their hotel for the West Coast Bites & Brews Tour, also delving into the secrets of the ancient Jojoba oil, local Nara oil and visiting an olive grove at nearby farms. Day one also included exploring a coffee roastery, as well as craft beer and gin tasting. Day two of their tour took Krishan and his group to an adrenalin-pumping, three-hour guided Quad Bike and Sand Boarding excursion through the mouth of the Swakopmund River followed by a lavish dinner at a local restaurant. After a forum meeting in the morning, day three featured lunch at the Farmhouse Deli, followed by a two-hour Old City Tour of Swakopmund on a fat bike. On this scenic Swakopmund tour, visitors take in some of Swakopmund’s historic buildings and landmarks that convey how this charming town started and why Swakopmund is still one of Namibia’s favourite places to visit. After a full day out, the group was collected from their hotel for the “Danie Sundowner Experience”. The eerie Moon Landscape was the dramatic setting for their cocktail hour with beautifully laid tables and champagne glasses filled with sparkling wine. Fresh Swakopmund oysters and light snacks were served, while the group watched the African sun set over this incredible landscape. Day four began with an early leisurely breakfast and a full-day tour, including a boat cruise at Walvis Bay and a Sandwich Harbour 4 X 4 Tour. A late breakfast of fresh Walvis Bay oysters and light snacks served with sparkling wine were enjoyed on board.
After a final breakfast at the hotel, the group checked out and departed for Walvis Bay Airport on their homeward bound journey.
